Annie Mumolo, who was nominated for an Oscar alongside Kristen Wiig for writing the hit Bridesmaids, will be writing the script of a movie based on the one of the most creative women in business, Joy Mangano. The creator of HSN favorites like the self-wringing mop and Huggable Hangers, Mangano was a struggling single mother of three from Long Island working three jobs to put food on the table at night for her kids when she came up with the innovative mop. Since then she developed the reputation of being the “Mother of Invention” and sold her mop company in a multi-million dollar deal with HSN and still remains the company’s president.
Fox 2000 landed the deal to tell Mangano’s story with Rodney Ferrell overseeing the project. Producing the film will be Davis Entertainment’s John Davis and John Fox with Ken Mok who’s the executive producer of America’s Next Top Model.
As I mentioned above Mumolo will be writing the screenplay for this film and will also appear next on the big screen this December in This Is 40, check out the trailer below!
