Officials say they now know what caused the blackout that delayed the Superbowl for over a half-hour. They say a device which had been installed specifically to prevent a power-outage failed. The relay was designed to prevent a power interruption between the utility and the Superdome.

So, it did exactly the opposite of what it was supposed to do! Sort of like that Krispy Kreme weight-loss plan I tried for a few weeks!
